Bitbucket MCP Integration

Learn how to integrate Bitbucket with Cokpit using MCP service

Bitbucket Credentials

Step 1: Create an App Password on Bitbucket

Example: App Password

  1. Go to Bitbucket → Personal settings → App passwords.

  2. Click Create app password.

  3. Give it a label and select permissions (e.g., repository read/write, pullrequest if needed).

  4. Click Create and copy the generated app password.

💡 Tip: Copy the app password now — it won't be shown again.

Step 2: Add Bitbucket Credentials to Cokpit (MCP)

  1. Open Cokpit and go to Integrations → Version Control → Bitbucket (MCP).
  2. Click Add secret.
  1. Fill in the required fields:
    • Enter a unique Secret Name
    • Enter your Bitbucket Username
    • Paste your App Password
  2. Click Submit.

Security Best Practices

  • Create app passwords with minimal permissions
  • Use separate app passwords per integration
  • Regularly rotate app passwords
  • Enable two-factor authentication on your Atlassian account
